Silas Tsang

Creative Director

Silas began at a young age, fascinated by the salons' facades and very interested in the whole environment. Silas began his hair career when he moved to London, UK in 1985. He has been working in this profession ever since in London, Hong Kong, Germany and then making Ottawa his home, where he opened Blushes in 2001. Silas is an internationally recognized, award- winning master stylist. Silas is the first person in Canada to win the Hairdressers Journal | British Hairdressing Awards title | International Collection of the Year | 2020. This collection also won North American Hairstylist of the Year | 2020 and the Contessa - Canadian Hairstylist of the Year | 2021 - a first in the world to win all 3 titles with 1 collection. Silas is celebrated for his extreme creative and attention to detail cuts suited for each individual client.

Dorothy Tsang

Colour Director/Senior Stylist

Dorothy opened Blushes in 2001 with husband Silas Tsang. Together they have been a dynamic duo in the hair and beauty industry and Dorothy herself has carved a path with her amazing skill and talent - a multi award winning stylist. She brings over 30 years experience to the salon and her clients. With a passion for continued education and best practices she delivers a very high level personal experience. Dorothy has achieved many various category wins in her career, but is know for her expert cutting skills | Global Image Awards | Winner Haircutting | 2019 and was Session Hairstylist of the Year at the Contessa's | Canadian Hairstylist of the Year Awards | 2021. Dorothy excels in all aspects of hair, she will make your visions become reality.

Melissa

Senior Stylist

Melissa began her hair career at Blushes, as she joined us in 2001. With over 20 yrs experience, Melissa continues her education regularly to offer her clients the very best in current trends and techniques. Her passion is designing personalized, natural and seamless colour looks for her clients who are looking for a complete change or a subtle change. Melissa featured a collection in the Contessa's | Canadian Hairstylist of the Year Awards and won the title of Newcomer Hairstylist of the Year | 2014. Melissa specializes in Balyayage, highlights | color, color correction, ION straightening | creative cuts | styling and updos.
